The Story of Esther Serve, Learn, and Inspire by Ryan

[Title] by [Full name]

You might have seen her at the Sendelta International School campus: she is always in a hurry but leaves a smiling face behind the crowd; she does many jobs, yet never gets agitated. She is Esther Wang, an American-born Chinese in 12th graderABC girl in H4 grade, an upright personwhose philosophy of life is "serving others."

"I always thought education is not just learning, but learning yourself, learning others, and serving society," Esther summarizes her high school life. Having traveled from Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Chicago, USA, to Sendelta International Academy in Shenzhen, China, she has always followed the same path across the Pacific: discovering, learning, and giving.

Finding Her Direction Through Exploration

As a first-year student of middle high school in the US, Esther showed tremendous academic ability and drive. While freshmen were not allowed to enroll in AP courses at her school, she prepared on her own and scored a 5 on the AP Chinese exam. She competed in FBLA business competitions, Mock Trial, and Law Club and led her team "Sustainability Soldiers" to regional wins in the Intuit Social Innovation Challenge. "That was a lesson aboutin the value of 'people' as the greatest resource—our team members and the people we serve."

But she did not stop there. From the church youth leadership team to school fundraising campaigns, from demanding practices in the pit orchestra to cross-cultural pen pal letter exchanges with friends in Spain and China, Esther, through these high-commitment activities, increasingly directed her zeal toward connecting different cultures and helping underprivileged groups.

Finding Her Purpose in Cultural Connection and Social Service

When Esther transferred to Sendelta, she quickly settled in at the new community and devoted her energies to the school club system. As Deputy HeadMinister of the Club Management DepartmentDivision of the Student Union, she was not only a liaisongo-between between clubs and the school administration but also a voice for realactual-world change: condensing promotional materials to A4 size, establishing a maintenance procedure for club bulletin boards, and condensing the club fair procedure. "I wanted to systematize things so that every club would be visible and accessible."

The most hard work she dedicated herself to wasput into was herthe "Stars with Silver YearsHearts with Seniors" club, which she co-founded and leads. The club merged the dissolved "Hearts Roaming with Stars" and "Social Volunteer" clubs, which catered to children with autism, the disabled, and the elderly. Apart from the usual educational seminars, the club also engaged in a series of hands-on philanthropic activities: monthly mall and park busking to raise funds and awareness for autistic children; co-organizing the"InspireMe Festival" with foreign schools to create an afternoon of fun and art for over 60 special needs families; arranging coffee fundraising events and handmade craft sales; and donating proceeds and books to the "Shouwang Association."

"What we wish to do is not only 'help,' but also 'accompany' and 'understand,'" affirms Esther. In her view, true service is building equal relations and making the served people happy and respected.

Balancing Academic Excellence and Leadership

Together with her wide involvement in club activities, Esther's academic achievement is also exemplary. She achieved a score of 15740 on the SAT, tutored herself for and aced a number of AP tests, and emerged victorious in scholarly competitions like the International Economics Olympiad (IEO). She also channeled her interest in the community into a student project—"Sendeltan Odyssey"—that aims to collect and record the unspoken history of student work, writing a living history of the school by its very students.

She is the concertmaster and vice general manager of the SanMao Orchestra at her school. She not only schedules rehearsals and coordinates sections, but she also volunteered to make posters and go out to classes advertising the orchestra, simply because she "wanted more people to know our school has such a great orchestra."

The Story Continues

To look back at Esther's experience in high school is like reading a book with dense content: each page is filled with discovery, studying, and dedication. Her teacher stated, "Esther's learning attitude is great; she completes assignments within timelines and never delays problem-solving."

And as for the future, Esther's plans are set and firm—she will continue studying the subjects that interest her, like sociology, economics, and public service, putting her understanding of culture and passion for service into practice in the long run.

In Esther, we don't just see an incredible CV, but we discover a youthful heart with her enthusiasm leading the way for herself and touching the hearts of people. Her secondary school years teach us that true greatness lies in inner goodness and continuous efforts towards making small, yet beautiful, differences in the world.
